About Disc Golf

Disc golf is a flying disc sport in which players throw a disc at a target; it is played using rules similar to golf.

The sport is usually played on a course with 9 or 18 holes. Players complete a hole by throwing a disc from a tee area toward a target, throwing again from where the previous throw landed, until the target is reached. The number of throws a player uses to reach each target is tallied, and players seek to complete each hole and the course with the lowest number of total throws.

RHBH
Right Hand Backhand Throw – Flight descriptions are based on players throwing right-handed with a backhand style.
LHBH
Left Hand Backhand Throw – Reverse the RHBH flight path.
RHFH
Right Hand Forehand Throw – Reverse the RHBH flight path.
LHFH
Left Hand Forehand Throw – Same flight path as a RHBH throw.
Stable
The tendency of a disc to remain straight during most of its flight—often desirable in windy conditions.
Understable/Turnover
The tendency of a disc to turn to the right (for a RHBH throw) during the high-speed portion of its flight. An understable disc will turnover more upwind than downwind.

Hyzer

Anhyzer
An angle of release where the outside edge (or left edge) of the disc is tilted upward for a RHBH throw.
